Directions - Mendota Bible Church

Where is Mendota, IL?

Mendota is located in northwest LaSalle County, approximately 15 miles north of Interstate 80, and 2 miles west of Interstate 39, in northern Illinois. Specifically, Mendota is at the crossroads of US Route 34 and Illinois State Highway 251. US Route 52 also intersects in Mendota.

Mendota is approximately an hour south of Rockford, IL, an hour north of Bloomington, IL, an hour and a half east of the Quad Cities, and an hour and a half from the western suburbs of Chicago.

Coming from the North:

If coming down I-39 (from the north): Take the Mendota Exit (# 72). Turn right and head west into town, approximately 2 miles. This is U.S. Route 34. Then, follow the directions listed below for coming from the East.

If not coming from the interstate: Find Route 251/52 in Mendota. Take 251/52 south through Mendota. Continue south out of town under the viaduct. We are 1/2 mile south of town after the viaduct. The church is on the west (right hand) side.

Coming from the East:

Take Route 34 into Mendota. Follow Rte. 34 through town -- Once you get into town, you will come to a stop sign. After that sign, the road will make a long, slow curve to the left. After the curve and a couple more blocks, you'll come to a stop sign. (There will be a nursing home on the left-hand side.) Turn right at that stop sign and go across the tracks.

Just after you get across the tracks, you need to turn right, then make a very quick left in order to stay on Rte. 34. Once you make that zig zag, you should pass Amcore Bank on the left and the P.O. on the right. Continue on to the stoplight (which is 13th Ave. or Rte. 251). Turn left at the light. Go South out of town, and go under the viaduct. We are 1/2 mile south of the viaduct on the right (West) side of the road.

Coming from the South:

If coming up I-39 (from the south): Take the Troy Grove Exit (# 66). This will also be Route 52. Turn left and head west. The road will curve around a couple ways and eventually end up at a stop sign as the road intersects with Rte 251. Turn right at this Stop sign and head north toward Mendota. It is about 5 miles to the edge of Mendota. (Continue below.)

If coming from I-80: Head toward La-Salle/Peru and take the exit for Route 251. Go north on 251 into Mendota. (Continue Below.)

If not coming from the Interstate:

Head north toward Mendota on Route 251. (Continue below.)

As you come north on Rte. 251, you will pass a John Deere dealership and a couple of car dealerships on the right. Soon after them, you will see a row of about 6 houses on the left (west side of road). At the end of the row is the parsonage and church. You will see the sign for the church. The driveway is BEFORE the sign. Turn in between the two brick pillars. The parsonage and church share a driveway.

Coming from the West:

Take Route 34 into Mendota. At the light, turn right on to Route 251 and head south out of town. Continue out of town, and go under the viaduct. We are 1/2 mile south of the viaduct on the right (West) side of the road.
